Job Description

As a VP, Data Platform Lead, you will be responsible for delivering capabilities offered by cloud providers and developing capabilities where gaps exist. This role includes building out a self-serve capability to help users scaffold infrastructure and register data, as well as mentoring junior engineers on software practices and architecture.

Responsibilities

Designing and operating a data platform from ingestion to consumption.
Writing scripts to contribute to a data mesh component.
Crafting a back-end that can test and self-serve capabilities offered by Azure.
Researching workarounds if needed to facilitate a data platform.
Designing, researching, and implementing process components to enable TD Azure functionalities.
Experience with 3rd party vendors such as Dremio or Confluent Kafka.
Creating architectural diagrams with networking focus and system design.
Leading complex projects with a high level of technical acumen and strong communication skills.
Analyzing platform level changes, monitoring application impact, and providing technical solutions.
Actively managing and escalating risk and customer-impacting issues.
Contributing to team agile ceremonies, leading demos and presentations, and helping new engineers learn established norms.
Initiating high-level solution design approaches and guiding the team to achieve key software delivery capabilities.
Participating in internal speaking and advocacy events.
Supporting research activities to adopt new technology solutions.

Qualifications

Undergraduate Degree in Engineering or Technical Certificate.
Expert knowledge in Java, Python, or JavaScript.
Expert knowledge of PaaS offerings from Azure.
8+ years of relevant experience.
Thought leadership in your area of expertise.
Willingness and strength in providing guidance across multiple teams.
