Job Description

As a Facilities Porter at Greenwich House, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our facilities to create a welcoming environment for employees and visitors.

Responsibilities

  • Cleaning and Maintenance:
    • Perform routine cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, and dusting.
    • Clean and sanitize restrooms and common areas.
    • Assist with outdoor maintenance tasks.
    • Report maintenance issues.
  • Assist with Set-Up and Tear-Down:
    • Set up rooms for events and meetings.
    • Arrange furniture and equipment.
    • Help in cleaning up after events.
  • Safety and Security:
    • Monitor safety hazards and ensure fire exits are clear.
    • Lock and unlock doors as needed.
    • Collaborate with security personnel.
  • Customer Service:
    • Provide assistance and directions to employees and guests.
    • Maintain a friendly demeanor.
    • Respond to requests promptly.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Maintain cleaning supplies inventory.
    • Report equipment damage or loss.
  • Compliance and Procedures:
    • Adhere to safety guidelines.
    • Follow cleaning procedures.
    • Complete required training.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques and equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Flexibility to work weekends or evenings.
