This position is responsible for assessing stakeholder needs and developing, delivering, and evaluating an effective outcome-based program in agriculture and natural resources with a focus on weed control, herbicide use, and general agronomy. Informal teaching opportunities may also arise as requested by faculty at the University of Arizona.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Program Development
1. Conducts a systematic analysis of national, Arizona, and county data, local resources, and historical information to identify community assets, program needs, and teaching opportunities.
2. Identifies resources to enhance programs.
3. In cooperation with community groups, develops an annual Plan of Work.
4. Consults with experts in the development of educational programs.
Program Implementation
1. Conducts creative programming to address priority needs of the target audiences.
2. Prepares educational material and publicity information.
3. Functions as a resource for other agencies and organizations.
4. Disseminates educational materials through various methods.
Program Results
1. Evaluates and documents the results of educational programs.
2. Communicates program results to both professional peers and clientele.
3. Counsels with the County Extension Director to evaluate program effectiveness.

1. Maintains professional competence through study and participation in professional activities.
2. Maintains high ethical and professional standards.
3. Promotes public understanding and support for Extension and University programs.
