Job Description

The Supply Chain Specialist in the Balflex hydraulic hose and fitting industry is responsible for inventory management, order processing, shipment tracking, coordinating with suppliers, and analyzing data to optimize processes, ensuring smooth and efficient operations to ensure the efficient and cost-effective flow of goods, information, and finances from the source to the end customer.

Responsibilities

Specific Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Inventory Management

  • Maintaining accurate records of inventory levels.
  • Ensuring timely replenishment of stock.
  • Identifying and addressing potential inventory issues like obsolescence or damage.

Procurement Order Processing

  • Review inventory levels to ensure enough stock within supply chain pipeline.
  • Order additional stock requirements to supply base.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely purchase order fulfillment.
  • Managing order tracking from supplier and communication updates with internal customers.

Logistics and Transportation

  • Coordinating the movement of goods from suppliers to warehouses and customers.
  • Selecting appropriate transportation methods and carriers.
  • Monitoring shipments and addressing any delays or issues.

Supplier Management

  • Communicating with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and goods.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers.
  • Monitoring supplier performance and identifying areas for improvement.

Data Analysis and Process Improvement

  • Analyzing data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement in the supply chain.
  • Developing and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Collaborating with other departments to ensure alignment and coordination.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining high service quality.

Risk Management

  • Identify and mitigate potential risks that could disrupt the supply chain, such as natural disasters, political instability, or supply disruptions.

Qualifications

Education and Training Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred

Experience and Knowledge

- A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a supply chain position or equivalent.

- Data analysis, forecasting, and report generation.

- Demonstrated success in managing supply chain portfolio in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

- Highly proficient working with software including Excel.

Technical / Functional Skills / Competencies

Certifications:

- Preferred certifications include APICS, CPIM, CSCP, CPM, and ISM

Skills:

- Proficiency in ERP systems, Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant software. Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills

Problem-Solving:

- Strong analytical and decision-making abilities, coupled with innovative problem resolution skills.

Communication Skills:

- The ability to communicate effectively with suppliers, customers, and internal teams.

Organizational Skills:

- Capable of managing multiple priorities, projects, deadlines and prioritize effectively.

Analytical Skills:

- The ability to analyze data and identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
