Job Description

The Site Safety Inspector will ensure safety protocols and regulations are followed at the construction site, conduct safety inspections, identify hazards, and implement measures to minimize risk. Ideal candidate has a strong understanding of safety regulations and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee Safety Manager/Safety Coordinators management of safety and security matters pertaining to the project.
  • Review SWPs and provide comments for Contractor; recommend MTA C&D RE?s & CPM Safety Management acceptance of contractor SWPs.
  • Review contracts? Accident Prevention Program
  • Obtain/monitor contractor daily safety log.
  • Perform inspections and safety audits.
  • Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly site safety log with all safety related activities including safety deficiencies and corrective actions.
  • Request contractor incident reports/corrective action plan
  • Ensure all contractor employees? certifications log on a quarterly basis.
  • Recommend Stop work orders when there is a threat to our IDLH and non-compliance to OSHA/MTA C&D rules and guidelines.
  • Report on non-compliance of contractor and its subcontractors to MTA C&D CM, MTA C&D RE, MTA C&D CPM Safety Management
  • Conduct accident investigations to ascertain causes and to develop preventive safety measures.
