Job Description

Join our team as a Shear Operator in a climate-controlled warehouse setting. Operate shearing machines to cut metal plates accurately and contribute to a growing company.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate shearing machines to cut metal plates accurately according to customer specifications.
Inspect cut plates for dimensional accuracy and surface quality, ensuring compliance with company and industry standards.
Perform routine maintenance on shearing equipment to maintain efficiency and longevity.
Follow all safety protocols to maintain a secure and hazard-free work environment.
Collaborate with production and quality control teams to coordinate operations and resolve issues.
Utilize computers proficiently for data entry and inventory tracking.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years’ experience operating shears in a manufacturing or warehouse setting.
Forklift and overhead crane experience required.
Proficiency in basic warehouse and inventory systems.
Ability to read a tape measure down to 1/16 of an inch.
Ability to lift and move materials weighing 50 lbs. or more.
Strong mathematical skills for quick, on-the-job calculations.
Proficiency in computer applications for operational tracking.
Team-oriented and self-sufficient work ethic.
Strong organizational and communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members.
