Responsibilities

Collaborate with NYC/NYS DOHMH on investigation and reporting of exposure incidents
Serve as liaison with outside agencies and inter-hospital departments
Provide education and counseling on infection prevention to staff, patients, and visitors
Collect and analyze data on healthcare associated infections (HAIs)
Ensure surveillance for infection risks in all patient care areas
Act as subject matter expert on committees and provide consultative services
Contribute to development of policies, procedures, and best practices

Qualifications

Hold Certification in Infection Control (CIC) issued by CBIC
Master's degree in Epidemiology, Microbiology, or related field
1 year of experience in infection prevention programs
Experience in a supervisory capacity
