Job Description

The Production Manager supervises and coordinates all activities related to the production of goods and services in the company. Works closely with other managers and team leaders to ensure production objectives are met and efficiency is maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for quality control in the production departments.
  • Finding ways to do what the organization has defined as important.
  • Work with other managers in the organization to implement initiatives.
  • Provide feedback and hold supervisors accountable for results.
  • Must thrive and see value in leadership role.
  • Personally train supervisors a minimum of twice a year.
  • Help supervisors promote and follow new ideas and methods.
  • Understand and implement the 5's.
  • Help improve performance through Lean initiatives.
  • Collect data to help set goals and produce ideas.
  • Evaluate employee performance.
  • Treat all employees with kindness and respect.
  • Have a genuine interest in the success of others.
  • Ensure that teams prepare and follow all standard operating procedures.
  • Monitor and control the KPI's of the production areas.
  • Identify and troubleshoot problems in the production process and take corrective action when necessary.
  • Develop and maintain plans and strategies to improve efficiency and productivity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Continuous improvement: must have knowledge of production techniques and tools, such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.
  • Effective communication: must be a good communicator, both verbally and in writing, and must be able to convey ideas and objectives clearly and concisely.
  • Leadership skills: must have the leadership ability to motivate and guide your team to achieve production goals.
  • Delegation skills: must have the ability to delegate responsibilities and tasks to appropriate team members to optimize efficiency and productivity.
  • Problem solving: must be able to identify and solve problems effectively and efficiently to maintain production flow.
  • Time management: a production manager must be an expert in time management to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Ability to work under pressure: he/she must be able to work under pressure and to manage
  • Empathy and interpersonal skills: must have interpersonal skills and empathy to connect with your team and understand their needs and concerns.
  • Adaptability and flexibility: must be able to adapt to change and be flexible in project management and teamwork.
