Job Description

Yamato Japanese Restaurant is seeking experienced Servers/Hosts to provide exceptional customer service and ensure guests have an enjoyable dining experience.

Responsibilities

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in restaurants strongly preferred, but we are willing to train
  • Basic understanding of Asian food preferred
  • Deliver a consistently high level of customer service to each client, maintain a safe environment and engage with our guests
  • Looks for visual and verbal cues to identify the experience the guest wants and customizes the service to meet those expectations
  • Promptly and accurately takes food and beverage requests from guests
  • Learns menu and beverages, expertly recommends and upsells items
  • Ensures expedient service of food and beverages to the guests
  • Keep the service area clean in accordance with the company's guidelines as well as the requirements of the local health department
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism when interacting with guests and dealing with guest complaints
  • Accurately rings all orders into the POS system while simultaneously interacting with guests when applicable
