The Area Manager, Supply Chain Transportation, is responsible for overseeing daily operations, workload management, and compliance within a transportation support team and external 3rd party transportation providers.
Responsibilities
Supervise Inbound Transportation Support Team
Oversee 3rd Party Transportation Providers
Manage and coordinate dedicated partners including 3rd party driver pool, equipment, and shipments with specific delivery timing
Achieve Operational and Financial Targets
Collaborate with Internal Departments
Enhance Delivery Performance
Minimize Costs
Ensure Compliance
Develop and Mentor Associates
Drive Continuous Improvement
Prepare Reports and Presentations
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or GED (Required), Bachelor's degree in transportation and logistics management or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience: 3+ years of relevant work experience in team management
Skills: Experience with TL, LTL, Intermodal, knowledge of transportation industry regulations, strong analytical and communication skills, leadership abilities
