Job Description

A highly dynamic operations leadership position in Stockton, CA that includes facility maintenance, logistics, and distribution for multiple commodities of pipe and copper coil.

Responsibilities

  • Enforcement and execution of Safety Policies to include holding daily safety meetings and conducting required inspections.
  • Routing 8-10 trucks per day with multiple stops and varying durations to include sleep-outs utilizing proprietary software.
  • Supervise day-to-day tasks of Drivers and Warehouse ensuring adherence to all safety policies and practices.
  • Ensure 48? flatbed trailers are loaded safely and within the tenants of the Operations Standards.
  • Check each truck to ensure the quality of material in terms of correct quantity, correct SKU, and salable material.
  • Track Driver routes to ensure the highest levels of customer service. Communicate with sales any deviation from the plan.
  • Service Will Call orders safely, quickly, and without errors.
  • Plan for Common Carriers (3rd party trucks) as necessary.
  • Assist with loading trailers up for the day?s loads. Be able to operate a sit-down forklift.
  • Take pictures of all loaded trucks: Our Trucks, Will Calls, and Common Carriers.
  • Ensure all driver paperwork is complete, accurate, and filed in the driver box for daily deliveries.
  • Accurately receives all inbound material writing exception reports as necessary.
  • Adjust plan based on material received for orders that day.
  • Coordinates with the HR department and assistant manager to manage personnel issues and requests.
  • Prioritize Safety and Customer Service above all else.
  • Oversee trafficking, customer callouts, and delivery logs.
  • Monitor the loading and unloading of all materials.
  • Maintain inventory integrity by conducting physical counts and reconciling with the inventory system. Problem solve to root cause any variance as directed.
  • Scheduling and assigning daily loads.
  • Manage and maintain equipment and supply inventories.
  • Maintain the communication flow with the sales and leadership teams.
  • Process RMA?s
  • Adjust plan based on requests from sales.

Qualifications

  • High ability to multitask yet stay focused. Thrives in a chaotic culture!
  • Plays an integral role in developing the tools, data, and performance metrics to optimize operational efficiency. Uses strong critical thinking skills and analytical abilities.
  • Knowledge of distribution center processes, practices, and tools. 5-8+ years of experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to prioritize meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and people skills, collaborating with multicultural staff and other departments.
  • Must exhibit strong organizational skills and the ability to lead and gain the respect of other associates.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, ERP systems, and inventory management.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations, CDL A license, and forklift certifications.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and analytical abilities.
