Job Description
The YMCA of Greater New York is seeking a motivated Human Resources Generalist to join our passionate Human Resources team at the Association Office. This role will report to the Senior Executive of Employee Relations and Talent Acquisition and the SVP of Human Resources. The Human Resources Generalist will provide project support to different areas of the HR team, including employee relations, talent acquisition, learning and development, benefits, compensation, and HRIS.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with hiring managers to understand their hiring needs, support writing clear and concise job descriptions, and utilize various sourcing strategies to attract qualified candidates.
Responsible for updating employee guides and policies, ensuring clear communication of association expectations and procedures.
Stay informed of employment law changes, identify and mitigate compliance risks.
Act as a trusted advisor, offering support to employees.
Manage and update employee data as needed.
Assist HR Managers and personnel on projects.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of five (5) years of Human Resources experience.
Knowledge of HRIS and Applicant Tracking Systems.
Strong presentation skills and knowledge of HR procedures and policies.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
