Job Description

Join our team as a Special Education Aide in Lincoln Heights, CA, to provide support to students with diverse learning needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one support to assigned student with diverse learning needs, including academic assistance and/or physical support as required.
  • Support social interactions while maintaining awareness of personal boundaries.
  • Promote positive peer interactions, cooperation, and turn-taking.
  • Maintain consistency in daily routines to support student stability.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students during classroom activities and transitions.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers and other staff to coordinate support for students.
  • Foster a gentle and supportive environment for students to encourage positive behavior.
  • Attend meetings and training, as scheduled.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Required: Bilingual in Spanish.
  • Minimum of 60 college units or an AA/AS degree preferred.
  • Coursework at an accredited institution of higher education in child development, education and/or psychology is highly desirable.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
