Job Description

The Long Term Disability Claims Specialist II at MetLife evaluates long term disability insurance claims in accordance with plan provisions and within prescribed time standards. Requires independent judgment, critical thinking, exemplary customer service, and effective inventory management skills.

Responsibilities

Effectively manage assigned caseload of moderately complex claims
Provide timely, balanced, and accurate claims reviews
Develop action plans and identify return to work potential
Communicate effectively with claimants, customers, and attorneys
Collaborate with internal and external resources for data gathering
Calculate monthly benefits due after elimination period
Address and resolve escalated customer complaints

Qualifications

High school diploma
Prior experience with independent judgment and decision making
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Minimum 1 year LTD/IDI Insurance Claims experience
