Job Description

Serve as a Police Officer at the Lincoln VA Medical Center in Lincoln, NE. Perform a full range of police duties following and executing rules, regulations, or procedures covering law enforcement, security operations, patrol duties, control desk duty, and crime prevention activities.

Responsibilities

Protect civil rights of all individuals on VA controlled property
Prevent, detect and investigate crimes
Patrol assigned areas on foot or by motor vehicle
Subdue persons causing disturbance or threats
Follow rules/procedures concerning search and seizure of evidence and contraband
Prepare reports of activities and events
Perform traffic control
Assist citizens in emergency situations

Qualifications

U.S. citizenship required
Background/suitability investigation may be required
Must be able to pass a physical examination
Valid, unrestricted State driver's license required
