Job Description

Starr Insurance Companies is seeking a Project Manager to lead multi-year projects in the insurance industry. The ideal candidate will have strong project management experience and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Determine project scope and objectives in accordance with Project Sponsor direction
  • Use appropriate project management methodology to lead this multi-year project from planning to execution
  • Ability to manage tasks across cross functional teams such as IT, Audit, External Vendors
  • Develop Project Plans in consultation with appropriate project stakeholders and manage the resource needs along with the team's performance in all project tasks and deliverables
  • Responsible for providing project status, risk management, and escalation of issues as needed
  • Ensures that project is delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
  • Primary liaison point for all internal and external Project Stakeholders
  • Identification and escalation of issues to Key Decision Stakeholders
  • Manage project execution, monitoring deliverables, resources and budget
  • May lead efforts to develop new or revised processes/procedures for the assigned business areas
  • Conducts after action reviews (AAR) for all completed projects so lessons are learned and mistakes are not duplicated

Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Masters degree required
  • Greater than five years of project management experience preferably in the financial services and/or insurance industry
  • Demonstrated success in the management of operational as well as IT projects
  • Ability to manage time effectively, set priorities and meet deadlines. Be pro-active
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Must possess strong presentation skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Experience in data analysis is a requirement - must be able to run reports and analyze trends and issues
  • Experience in compliance and regulatory requirements would be a plus
  • Project management or Certified Scrum Master certification required
