Job Description

Responsible for managing and growing Makita sales revenue within the defined territory through the proper execution of Makita's strategic initiatives and sales programs.

Responsibilities

  • Compile lists of prospective/target customers (Distribution/End-Users) for use as sales leads.
  • Travel throughout assigned territory to conduct Makita business.
  • Display and demonstrate Makita products.
  • Provide expertise and support regarding pricing, quoting, credit terms, orders, and other sales support functions.
  • Perform business reporting functions.
  • Present, execute, and administer Corporate Sales Programs.
  • Coordinate and execute customer support events.
  • Create and execute strategic sales growth plans for key accounts and territory.
  • Investigate and resolve customer issues and concerns.
  • Stay abreast of market conditions, changes, and competitor activities.
  • Understand and execute a solutions-based sales approach.
  • Support Makita National Accounts.
  • Schedule account meetings and sales update meetings.
  • Maintain and control Makita's assets and their records.
  • Perform all company functions per federal, state, and municipal laws and per company policies.

Qualifications

  • Experience working in the residential and commercial construction industry.
  • Sales professional with discipline and solution-selling skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and penetrate accounts within the market.
  • Strong customer service skills with an ability to cold call new customers.
  • Strong self-motivator, able to work well independently and with others.
  • Excellent communication skills in person, over the phone, and in writing.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of Territory Management experience.
  • Background in construction sales.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
