Job Description

Join Montefiore's Division of Substance Abuse and help individuals enter recovery and re-integrate into their communities by providing nursing services under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct care for a population-specific patient assignment
  • Demonstrate medication administration as per regulatory requirements
  • Provide patient/family teaching on medication use and storage
  • Set priorities, problem-solve, and use proper judgment in difficult situations
  • Maintain a safe environment for patients/families
  • Document patient care and participate in continuous quality improvement
  • Responsible and accountable for own practice
  • Demonstrate body mechanics for patient care
  • Use various medical equipment for patient care

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED, Associate’s Degree preferred
  • New York State LPN License, Basic Life Support Certification required
  • Effective English communication skills
  • Ability to use basic data entry and Electronic Health Record systems
  • New York State Mandatory Infection Control Certification required
  • Experience in phlebotomy, EKG, weight scale, glucometer, and medical equipment
  • Experience in medication administration and automated dispensing systems
