Job Description

Community Access is seeking a Building Superintendent to provide a safe and adequate living/working environment for residents and staff in NYC. This live-in position involves daily maintenance, repairs, and building code compliance.

Responsibilities

The Building Superintendent will supervise maintenance personnel, ensure building code compliance, report inspections to the Program Director, and maintain common area lighting.

Qualifications

  • Understanding, appreciation, and commitment to the mission of Community Access.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years of training or 3 years of work experience in a related trade.
  • 1 year of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, masonry, painting.
  • Working knowledge of equipment installation and repair.
  • Ability to operate and maintain various machines.
  • Fingerprinted and cleared by the New York State Justice Center.
  • Ability to lift items up to 100 lbs.
  • Certificate of Fitness for Fire Alarm Systems.
