Job Description

Join American Infusion Centers as a Prior Authorization Specialist in a fast-paced environment. Verify patient eligibility, obtain insurance authorizations, and ensure accurate patient information.

Responsibilities

Checks & verifies eligibility for all patients.
Obtain insurance authorizations for patients when necessary.
Contacts insurance companies and completes coverage verification for all new patients.
Responsible for maintaining and managing resources, including insurance portal access, and provides consistent documentation in the EMR to support the obtained insurance authorization.
Maintains solid knowledge about all managed care plans accepted by the practice.
Ensure patient information, including billing information, is accurate.
Inform patients of medical office policies & procedures.
Assists billing department with patient payments and timely collection of charges.
Manage patient records.
Solve problems independently and efficiently.
Safeguard patient’s privacy & confidentiality according to HIPPA regulations.

Qualifications

Must possess a working knowledge of healthcare insurance policies, as well as an overall understanding of Medicare, commercial, HMO, PPO, POS & third party carriers.
Excellent multi-tasking, telephone and organizational skills are a must.
Exhibits excellent flexibility, customer service, time management and attention to detail.
Knowledge of EMR/EHR, medical terminology, procedures, diagnosis and medical jargon.
